MuseumsMcCain Student Center,The student union houses a bookstore, coffee house, movie theater, snack bar and dining area plus a TV lounge and student government offices; J.A. Albertson Activities Center, a 75,000 square-foot activities center which contains a large gymnasium, swimming pool, weight and aerobics rooms, and locker areas; Langroise Performing and Fine Arts Center, houses the college's music, theatre, dance and visual arts departments and includes a 188-seat recital hall and a 140-seat studio theater, Jewett Auditorium, is an 850-seat auditorium used for concerts, lectures, symposia and meetings that require a large capacity and a full stage; Rosenthal Gallery of Art, hosts a half-dozen art shows each academic year, including four or five touring exhibits and contains a stage that is used for intimate performances and readings; Orma J. Smith Museum of Natural History is home to an extensive collection of insects, mammals, fish, reptiles, plants, minerals, fossils and human artifacts, including a large collection of Native American baskets, blankets and pottery; Whittenberger Planetarium is located in Boone Science Hall and hosts several astronomy shows each year for local school children and adults; Glen & Ruth Evans Gem and Mineral Collection includes more than 50 glass-enclosed cases containing common and rarely-found gems and minerals, including Brazilian and Mexican Agate, Biggs Jasper, Varisscite, Lake Superior Agate, Tiger Eye, Bruneau Jasper and Owyhee Jasper; Sterry Hall was one of the two original buildings first built at Albertson, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and houses Archive collections for Idaho Governors Phil Batt and Robert Smylie, and Idaho Senator Steve Symms.
