| Museums | In September 2004 Rensselaer opened the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies. The 218,000-square-foot facility houses more than 400 faculty, staff, and student researchers in biotechnology, information technology, and related disciplines.The Center contains an 800 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometer and the computing and visualization infrastructure needed to model molecular structure at the atomic level. In 2007 Rensselaer will open the Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center. EMPAC is a place and a program, where the arts challenge and alter our technology and technology challenges and alters the arts. Rensselaer also has the following: Archer Center for Student Leadership Development; Bioinformatics Center at Rensselaer and Wadsworth; Centrifuge Research Center; Class 100 clean room; Combinatorial Sciences and Materials Informatics Collaboratory (CoSMIC); Darrin Fresh Water Institute (at Lake George); Electronics Agile Manufacturing Research Institute (EAMRI); Flexible Manufacturing Center (FMC); George M.
