The sudden development is the result of the University System of Georgia's Board of Regent's proposal which will most likely merge the campus of NGCSU with Gainesville State College, bumping the student population from 6100 to 15000 ... Hank Huckaby and also includes the possible merging of Middle Georgia College with Macon State College; Waycross College with South Georgia College; and Augusta State University with Georgia Health Sciences University.
